Alan Mintz is an artist and teacher. His current artwork consists of acrylic paint, rice paper, fabric, thread and pastels on wood panel surfaces. Through these materials he explores mark making by layering the different mediums through their viscosity, texture, transparency and application. The paintings play off of these marks to visually guide, contain, and connect them into a cohesive composition.

The overall result are paintings which embody playfulness, energy, and with a feeling of immediacy.
