It is the life, clarity and presence of information in the moment that primarily informs Mr. Raack's creative process.

After graduating from Cooper School of Art he went on to teach full-time there for six years. He then received an MFA in painting and taught drawing and painting at the Cleveland Institute of Art for 23 years. He also taught plein air painting in Colorado, at Interlochen Center and Leelanau School in Michigan.

Case Western Reserve University commissioned and owns 15 of his watercolor landscape paintings and over 30 of his oil portraits. More than 50 of his watercolor landscapes, nature studies and portraits are privately and corporately owned throughout the United States.

Mr. Raack has shown in many art galleries and art museums and has received numerous awards throughout his career. He is retired from teaching and continues to paint from direct observation nearly everyday.
